The Hole in the Wall is one of South Africa's most iconic natural landmarks — a massive free-standing cliff with a sea arch carved through it by thousands of years of crashing Indian Ocean waves. Known as "esiKhaleni" (Place of Noise) to the Xhosa people, the sound of the ocean rushing through the arch is unlike anything else on Earth.
Nestled between the Mpako River to the north and the Indian Ocean to the east, Hole in the Wall offers pristine beaches, lush rolling green hills, incredible marine life, and some of the most dramatic coastal scenery in southern Africa. It is an unspoilt paradise that remains blissfully undiscovered by mass tourism.
